Q. My necklace/bracelet already got
tarnished.
We come across
some customers saying their item got tarnished not so long after they started
to wear them.
Silver has characteristic
of being tarnished when it is exposed to hydrogen sulfide which is contained in
various foods and articles such as eggs, onions, latex, wool, and even grease
or sweat from a human body.
Hence, many
factors can tarnish silver, and they are tarnished more quickly during the
summer. Also, the severity of discoloration is different from person to person
as the chemical composition of perspiration differs. Additionally, fine
substances easily attach to silver, which can make your necklace/bracelet look
more tarnished.
1. We suggest you wash them every time you shower or when you
bathe your child.
2. Please make sure to remove the tarnish before you wear them
because tarnished silver can cause allergic reactions to baby’s sensitive skin.
3. Watch the video
showing how to remove tarnish.
4. For kids whose
necklace/bracelet discolors within 1 or 2 days, it is recommended to change the
item to Rare Silver. (Service fee will be charged)
* Note white-plating cannot prevent your
jewelry from tarnishing perfectly.

There have been a
few cases that only their new item gets tarnished when their other silver items
they have bought from Kaiu before did not get tarnished.
Natural sheen and
prevention of discoloration are earned by the daily wearing of the item. The
item that was first worn during the seasons when you perspire less would be
more resistant to discoloration during the summer. In other words,
what season you start wearing the necklace/bracelet may influence the severity
of tarnishing — also, the composition of perspiration changes by a dose of
medicine or a condition of the skin.
