Q. Kaiu's Birth Stones
Kaiu only uses
natural gemstones, which makes a slight difference in color between the ones
presented in the picture and the real gems.
- March – Aquamarine - Aquamarine gemstone appearing light
blue in the picture is actually transparent on silver or gold as it literally
means.
- January-
Garnet - Kaiu uses almandite garnet instead of rhodolite garnet despite its
high price as the almandite garnet has a reddish-purple color that is more
popular for kids.
- May-Emerald - natural emerald
features with a lot of inclusions and cracks. Hence, it can appear less
transparent than you expect.
Birthstones are gemstones
that are associated with a birth month. Each stone has its own special meaning
and significance. Jewish belief that bringing
natural gems have good effect on a body and spirit arrived in Poland and Europe
developed with astrology in the 18th century. The 12 gems have a
connection with the 12 jewels in the Bible.
However, the 12 birthstones
people refer today are chosen by jewelry
dealers of America and Britain. In other countries, they
have their own list of birthstones and in some case they can be changed by
astrological information.
Based on the list of
birthstones used in America, Kaiu uses Citrine over
Topaz for the November birthstone and Blue Topaz over sky-blue
Zircon due to the difficulty in production in Korea.
